The Big Blue Crane

We were thrilled to be a part of the amazing team that helped navigate an 18-day trek from Manitowoc, WI to Kittery, ME.

 

Hwy H2O enlisted the Ceres Barge Line’s Oxbow along with Dann Ocean Towing, Malcolm Marine, McKeil Marine, and yours truly to help navigate the Great Lakes’ rivers and locks.

 

The entire crew did a phenomenal job at guiding the Oxbow and its 1.5 million-pound (170-ton) Crane that stands an impressive 107-feet tall.

The Big Blue Crane that was crafted by Konecranes, now sits in its new home at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery where it’ll spend its days hauling submarines for the US Navy.
