M/V Meredith Ashton
Built in 1999, the M/V Meredith Ashton is the newest addition to our fleet and to the Great Lakes. Sporting twin Caterpillar 3516Tier 2 main engines, coupled with her 95'x32'x13.7' frame allows for easy access to all of the ports we service.
M/V Candace Elise
Our tug, the M/V Candace Elise is a hardworking, reliable vessel that sees duty year-round transporting bulk and project cargo, and breaking ice in the off-season. Powered by two Caterpillar 3512 TA diesel engines, the Candace Elise is 100 feet long and can sleep an 8-person crew.
Ashton Marine owns and operates two ABS Great Lakes hopper barges. These covered barges carry cargo below deck, making them ideal for cargo that needs to remain dry, such as agricultural, aggregates, finished steel and project cargo. Our two hopper barges are capable of moving up to 1,900 tons of cargo each for a total of 3,800 tons on the Great Lakes. These barges were built to the optimal size for river system shipping: 200’ x 35’ taking up only one spot in a river tow making it cost effective to get product in and out of the river system without having to transload.
In addition to our new hopper barges, Ashton Marine also has access to traditional flat deck barges for cargo that can ride above deck and doesn’t need to remain dry. They’re a great way for heavy haulers to perform roll-on, roll-off services.
With a 3,600-ton capacity, the new AM3600 can handle all your bulk or project cargo needs. The AM3600 even converts into a spud barge thanks to its dual 50-inch spud well pockets.
